We provide design services for a wide range of hospital and healthcare projects large and small, often under long term Framework Agreements. Examples of recent projects include:


Project: Urgent Care Centre, Paediatric Assessment Unit and Clinical Decision Unit
Client: St George’s Healthcare NHS Trust

Phased refurbishment of an operational A&E department to provide a paediatric assessment unit, urgent care centre and clinical decision unit.


Project: New Ward Block – Sunderland Royal Hospital
Client: City Hospitals Sunderland NHS Trust

New 5 storey building with plant room and estates department on the ground floor and 3 wards and an ICCU on the upper floors. The building is of modular construction, and was constructed to very tight timescales. The external elevations have a render finish with a curved roof to match an adjoining building. Contract value: approx £18.5m.


Project: Multi Agency Specialist Hubs
Client: Kent County Council

Three “Multi Agency Specialist Hubs” at Ashford, Thanet, and Swale, to provide shared bases for Kent County Council and NHS staff of the Eastern and Coastal Kent Primary Care Trust. The buildings include a range of services including: Children’s speech and language therapy, children’s occupational therapy, children’s physiotherapy, children’s audiology and visiting educational psychologists. The combined value of all three projects was £10.1m.


Client: Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

  • Project: Carlingford Centre
    New unit for paediatric outpatients, specialist aseptic pharmacy, chemotherapy, sexual health centre, orthodontics and oral and maxillo-facial surgery. Project value £6.1m.
  • Project: Education Centre Extension
    Extension to operational clinical education centre. The building’s energy efficient design uses exposed thermal mass to provide cooling. Project value £3m
  • Project: Spiritual Support Facility:
    Vertical extension to existing building to form new chapel and faith room. An innovative design featuring cold formed steel sections provides a very lightweight structural solution. £256,000.
  • Project: Electrical Infrastructure Upgrades
    New sub-station and alterations to an existing substation to accommodate new transformer. £500,000.

Client: Frimley Park Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

  • Project: Outpatients refurbishment and Antenatal extension
    Phased refurbishment of an operational outpatients department and extension of antenatal accommodation by infilling an existing undercroft. Project value £1.3m
  • Project: Maternity Ward refurbishment
    Refurbishment of maternity ward. Project value £293,000.
